There are two situations where the printer cannot be recognized and nothing happens when you try to print it. 1. Why does the red light keep flashing when we print? The red light is an indication that our Soonmark printer has a problem with your label. Most likely, it needs to re-learn your label. Please ensure the labels are loaded correctly in the printer and then run paper calibration following the steps below. Paper calibration ① Press and hold the paper FEED button on the printer. ② While pressing and holding the paper FEED button, turn on the power switch. ③ When the indicator light flashes red twice, release the button immediately, and the paper calibration is completed. * You need to do the calibration again every time when you change a new paper size or paper type, or the red light flashes during printing. Why does the printing come out as garbled/messy codes? Example picture of printing garbled characters Some times you may find the printing becomes garbled characters as above picture show, in this case, you need to reset the printer to get it initialized. Printer initialization: ① Press and hold the paper FEED button on the printer. ② While pressing and holding the paper FEED button, turn on the power switch. ③ When the indicator light flashes in BLUE twice, release the button immediately, the printer starts initializing. When you find your printer offline and paused during the printing, you can follow the below 3 steps to work it right. Step 1. Double click the Printer icon in the bottom right corner of your computer desktop. Step 2. There pops up the print task dialog box. Step 3. Click [Printer] in the window, and then uncheck the two check boxes of [Pause Printing] and [Use Printer Offline].

Connect the computer with a USB cable, turn on the printer, and install the printer driver. 2. Open the diagnostic tool to obtain the IP address. 3. The most common reason for low-quality prints has to do with a low-quality source file. To test whether your printer is in good health, please print the Sample label. But if only parts of your label look faded, the reason could be one of the following: 1.Label: The darkness of the label depends on the label manufacturer. High quality labels produce darker prints. 2.Print density and speed: Within your printer [preferences], you can set your [Density] and [Speed]. For Windows: You may access these settings by going to your [Control Panel] -> [Printers and Devices] -> right click on [4BARCODE...] driver-> click [Printing Preferences] -> [Options]->[Print Speed]->[Darkness] For Mac: Look for drop down menu under [Printer Features] in the print prompt window,set the Note: 1.By default, your printer is set to print at its fastest. Slowing this speed will result in a higher resolution. 2.Increasing the number for your density / darkness will result in a darker print. Setting the density too high will result in unwanted dark lines and/or label getting too hot and sticking mid-way to the printer head. Decreasing this number results in a lighter print. (Example pictures shown below) 3.Besides, to clean the print head and rubber platen roller softly with industrial alcohol-sprayed wet cloth also helps to improve the print quality. ( example picture shown below ) 4.If the print head is broken or the rubber platen roller worn-out, the print quality also looks not good. ( example picture shown below ) In this case, you are suggested to replace the print head or rubber roller.
